What are Eyelash Extensions?
Synthetic and/or Mink eyelash extensions are applied by carefully attaching one lash extension at a time to each of your individual lashes with a bonding agent. This process can take about 1-2 hours. The lashes will eventually fall out with your natural lash cycle, so it is not supposed to be damaging and also gives a natural look. Depending on your lash cycle, lash extensions should last about 4-6 weeks.
Note:
- Lash cycles vary per person
- I recommend going to a trained and certified specialist
- Mink used was cruelty-free
- Bonding used was fume-free and medical grade
Pricing
- First appointment, $225-$275 based on synthetic or mink fur lashes
- Refills, $65-$85 based on synthetic or mink fur lashes
Maintenance & RecommendationsÂ
This is definitely a major lifestyle change
- Only oil-free products used around and on eyes (no more liquid liner!)
- Avoid sleeping face down
- No eye rubbing
- Dry lashes only with paper towels to avoid towel fluff
- Refills are recommended about every 2-5 weeks
- Lash conditioner applied morning and night
- When washing face, carefully splash water on eyes
- Avoid steamy hot showers, steam rooms, saunas
- Avoid facing shower head straight on
MY PROS & CONS
Pros
- Beautiful long, curled, and full lashes
- No mascara needed
- No curling needed
Cons
- Time Consuming, my first appointment took about 2 hours and refills take about 45 minutes
- Expensive
- After following all directions and recommendations, my lashes did some clumping
- I felt that my lashes fell out faster than normal (probably due to the extra weight of the lash extensions?)
- I ended up with some scary bald patches (pictures below)
